41 fuel pressure regulator vacuum line diagram

In a street/strip application we recommend running the feed line directly to the carburetors fuel log then placing the regulator on the return line side of your fuel log. This allows the fuel to flow unrestricted to your carburetor, but still regulates the pressure and returns the unused fuel back into the gas tank. Check the vacuum hose for a tight connection. A loose hose will prevent the regulator from working properly. Also, check the hose for damage and wear. Then disconnect the vacuum line from the regulator. 3. If you see any signs of fuel in the vacuum line, the diaphragm inside the pressure regulator has a leak and you need to replace the regulator.

I traced the vacuum supply line for the reservoir to the fuel pressure regulator. Attached is a couple of pictures of the vacuum line routing for those bits. If you look at the red vacuum line, it goes directly from the top of the FPR right into that black spherical reservoir (which does hold vacuum BTW, I tested it with a vacuum gauge I just got).

Fuel pressure regulator vacuum line diagram. The orange line is vacuum retard that connects the plenum to the fuel pressure regulator to the small nipple on the decel valve. The green line is a dedicated retard line used only a few FI models: the nipple on the retard (left) side of the dual vacuum can (DVDA) picks up vacuum from the bumper side of the throttle body. The fuel pressure regulator is closed under these conditions, restricting flow through the return line increasing fuel pressure at the fuel rail, providing more fuel to the injectors. With a fuel pressure tester attached to the service port on the rail, disconnect the vacuum hose from the regulator. There should be an increase in fuel pressure. On the fuel rail, the vacuum hose connection facing the front of the vehicle should connect to the CCV (item #6 in the diagram below), and the connection facing the rear that goes behind the manifold, should connect to the fuel pressure regulator. The broken line in your second photo is part #11617504536 (item #7 in the diagram below) and is ... Release fuel pressure by removing fuel pump relay and turning engine over to release pressure. Place a rag to catch any fuel under regulator Fuel pressure regulator has a locking clip pry clip off remove vacuum line pull regulator out with twisting motion, replace fuel pressure regulator install clip connect vacuum line install relay.

Fuel pressure regulator vacuum line is connected to intake manifold. Changes in air pressure in the manifold is used to push up/down the diaphragm inside the regulator hence maintaining fuel pressure in the fuel injection system. Check if there is fuel coming out of the vacuum line on the FPR, if it is wet then it leaks, replace it. 27 Jan 2011 — i noticed a picture of someone elses engine and they had a vacuum line coming off the intake manifold to the regulator. mine has the same type ... Fig. 1: Fuel pressure regulator — 5.0L and 5.8L engines. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the vacuum line at the regulator. Remove the 3 Allen screws from the regulator housing. NOTE: In some cases the factory bent the fuel line over one of the 3 Allen screws making it difficult to remove with an Allen wrench. Attached is another pic of the pressure regulator vacuum line on the right, and my new vacuum line from the automatic transmission hard line on the left. Need to know where the other end of the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line hooks in!. (and confirmation of the transmission vacuum line) Thanks!

Yeah, I took a look at it, the vacuum line running from the FPR it was unclear where it was running to. '90 - '97 cars only: Remove the hoses from the fuel pressure regulator (FPR). There will be a fuel line and a vacuum line. If you're not going to reference the FPR to manifold pressure (this will be true for most cars, see step 25 for more details), plug the hole that the vacuum line for the original FPR used. 16. There should not be any vacuum to the solenoid when the engine is idling. If there is, you have swapped the vacuum line connection for the fuel pressure regulator with the one for the vacuum advance. This will cause your car to idle high. The vacuum that is supplied to the fpr at idle lowers the pressure, thereby causing the idle to be a bit ... GM has had a lot of trouble with leaking fuel pressure regulators, but that is mostly on their truck engines. Before you start replacing parts, pull the vacuum hose off the regulator and look inside it. If it is wet with gas, replace the regulator, and definitely change the oil right away to get the gas out.

With the engine warm connect the vacuum line to the regulator and note the drop in pressure. Adjust the regulator back up to the maximum pressure you found was possible with a cold engine in step 2. Now, at idle, fuel pressure will be safe, but at WOT, fuel pressure will rise by the amount it fell when the vacuum line was connected.

I'm actually not relocating the vacuum line, my long term fuel trims are off +10.1%, called my tuner, the first thing he recommended was that I check my FPR vacuum line to make sure it's not loose, as the car was just tuned about 4 weeks ago. Just want to make sure I'm checking the right place, if I need to check somewhere else ect.

Fuel Pressure Regulator This is a wonder of science right here. Basically, its a vacuum actuated valve. ... If so, when I put my RDfabs intake on there was only an inlet for the bigger one- no inlet for that little vacuum line so I just took it off anyway. Re: 2.2 Ecotec FPR Vacuum trick. 8. Attach the fuel return line to the regulator bottom port using an AN-6 style fitting and o-ring. 9. Tighten all connections. 10. Once the regulator is installed, attach a suitable fuel pressure gauge to the 1/8 NPT port on the fuel pressure regulator (0-100psi 1.5" fuel pressure gauge, part # 15633). Use thread sealant when

LRS-CM4764 -FUEL PRESSUR REGULATOR: Eventually, your fuel pressure regulator gets to a point where fuel pressure rises and can create a rich air/fuel mixture which can lead to low MPG as well as HP loss. Our Motorcraft fuel pressure regulator for your Fox Body is sure to provide the best quality replacement for your Mustang.

A fuel pressure regulator is used to maintain a steady fuel supply, even during dramatic changes in fuel demand. The fuel pressure regulator diaphragm has two sides/chambers, one side is under pressure from the fuel rail and the other side is subject to vacuum/boost pressure from the inlet tract - between the throttle plate and the inlet port.

A simple google of fuel pressure regulator shows many cross sections. Pretty easy to understand why an engine was not running right. Gotta admit I did not know what pressure the fuel system operates at but do now. Our manual walks thru it. The crap can find its way forced back to the gas tank.

2. Remove any cosmetic covers necessary to allow access to the fuel pressure regulator. 3. Remove the vacuum line from the regulator (some vehicles do not have vacuum operated regulators). 4. Return, or bypass, style regulators are characterized by a fuel return line from the regulator back to the fuel tank. With a bypass style regulator, fuel enters through the inlet port (A) and travels past a fuel bypass valve/fuel return line port (which governs fuel flow and pressure) (B) and then is distributed through an outlet port to the ...
