It drives well and doesn't seem to be lacking power, but it has a pretty erratic idle and occasionally stalls when it gets back down to idle speed. It has not thrown any codes, but I do have a decent code reader capable of displaying/graphing live data. The following have been replaced in the last year: * All 6 spark plugs * All 6 ignition coils * MAF sensor (with new Denso unit) * Engine air filter (still clean) I'm concerned this is an engine timing issue because it has some pretty awful ti... Okay, so I just ordered a Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX to install in my '06 Sonata, and I was really happy with all of it until... I went to setup my Maestro SW steering wheel control, and realized that the Pioneer headunit does not offer all the same steering wheel button functions. While Volume +/- and Mode still work, the mute button can no longer be set to "mute" (or even pause). I checked, and it is almost certainly a Pioneer problem. The Kenwood DDX9906XR (a comperable head unit) allows you to set...
But I’ve read that those don’t really go out very much my car has 144,000 miles on it, and it was driving fine until a couple of weeks ago, so you guys think it’s the power steering pump, or maybe something else ?

My timing belt broke on my sonata. Long story short I replaced my water pump on it about a year ago and at the time didn’t have the money to change all the timing components. Since my water pump is relatively new do I need to replace it again to avoid any issues or will I be able to re-install with new gasket+sealant? I found a few good videos on YT for the install but any tips would be appreciated! Hi Reddit, So I got a Hyandai Sonata GLS 2006. All of a sudden, my right headlight is not working. Naturally, I checked all my fuses and swapped them out. Same for the relays. Also, same for the light bulb. All without any effect. Left light (driver) no problem at all, high beam does work on both lights. Personally afraid it might be a wiring issue. I did come up with a somewhat alternative solution, namely adding a fuse tap under the fuse box under the hood, use that fuse tap to wire the rig... Let me start this off by saying I do not know much about cars. I’ve been waiting to buy one for a year or two when I saw a car auction in my area pop up. I was sold a Hyundai Sonata 2006 for an extremely low price, with the listing stating that it “runs and drives great.” Test drive, it ran, and drove great. I dropped it off at a mechanic’s shop, of which is run by my fathers friend, and he tells me that he was dumbfounded at how good of a condition the car was in considering the price, until he...
2006 hyundai sonata belt diagram. Just yesterday my car started clicking/popping when I turn. Specifically when I’m parking or turning at low speeds like 20 mph. It pops every second that I’m turning. I won’t be able to have it looked at until the weekend is over. Anything I can do in the meantime? I need a new tensioner on my car (the belt stops turning when it gets wet). I called my mechanic and he says he wants to replace the entire tensioner assembly (which has the tensioner and idler pulleys attached to it). Is there any reason he can't just change the tensioner pulley? I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 with some transmission issues: * Solid MIL, with P0732 and P0734 codes. No other stored/pending codes. * No reverse gear * I have forward drive gears, but it will not shift above 3rd gear There are approximately 70k miles on this OE transmission (previously replaced under Hyundai's factory warranty). The ATF fluid level is good and cherry red, not burnt. I have a decent scan tool capable of reading the transmission data, so what should I be checking next?
